The Diablo Gateways to Innovation (DGI) Consortium is a coalition of 10 school districts in 3 counties, 4 community colleges, one Cal State University, 2 County Offices of Education, 2 Regional Occupational Programs, and 2 Workforce Investment Boards
The 2016 Diablo Gateways to Innovation Educator Externship Pilot is designed to provide up to 40 hours of paid workplace experience over summer. Participants will receive a stipend of $1500 for the 40 hours upon completion of all pre-, post-, and workplace activities. If you are selected, the externship can commence as early as June 13 and culminate on or before July 29 depending upon both the employer and educator schedules.
College summer camps provide career exploration opportunities to high school students through intense and exciting 5-day courses, all offered for free. Each course is full of hands-on activities, field visits, and interaction with numerous industry professionals. Successfully completing a course earns 2.5 units of high school credit and 1 unit of college credit.
There are 3 great camps to choose from: Engineering, Construction and Manufacturing; Hospitality and Culinary; and Business.
